NFL TD Prop Bets Today

Last Updated: Sep 11, 2024

Week 1 was a resounding success for my NFL touchdown props as I hit two of my three bets, including Stefon Diggs to score two or more touchdowns at +1700.

Continuing that performance in Week 2 will be challenging, but let’s try to keep the good times going.

Without further ado, it’s time to dig into my favorite NFL TD prop bets for Week 2.

NFL TD Prop Bets Today

NFL odds used for these Week 2 TD prop bets are current as of Wednesday, Sept. 11, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Week 2 Anytime TD Props: J.K. Dobbins (+125), Malik Nabers (+130)

Week 2 First TD Props: Jonathan Taylor (+550)

Week 2 Multiple TD Props: James Conner 2+ TDs (+600)

Week 2 Anytime TD Props

J.K. Dobbins: Anytime TD (+125)

It wasn’t clear how the Chargers would split carries between former Ravens running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards heading into Week 1. Now, we have a bit more insight.

Edwards received 11 carries to Dobbins’ 10 in Sunday’s win over the Raiders. However, the Ohio State product earned more snaps (58% to Edwards’ 42%) and was more productive with them, rushing for 135 yards and a score.

When healthy, Dobbins was the featured back in Greg Roman’s offense in Baltimore, and he should have a slight edge over Edwards heading into a delicious Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Carolina allowed a pair of rushing touchdowns in its 47-10 loss to the Saints in Week 1, during which it lost defensive tackle Derrick Brown for the season. LA is a 6.5-point road favorite on Sunday, so Dobbins should get a chance to find paydirt against a weakened defensive front in a positive game script for the Chargers.

Back Dobbins to find the end zone for a second straight week as one of your NFL best bets today.

Malik Nabers: Anytime TD (+130)

If Week 1 is any indication, targeting wide receivers against the Commanders’ secondary for your touchdown props is a good idea.

Washington allowed Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield to complete 24 of 30 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns, two of which went to my Week 1 Anytime TD bet, Mike Evans (+125).

This week, I’m targeting Giants rookie WR Malik Nabers, who hauled in five of seven targets for 66 receiving yards in his NFL debut Sunday against Minnesota. The LSU product didn’t have a red-zone target, but he played 100% of the team’s snaps and should get more looks from Daniel Jones against this weak secondary.

Plus, there’s a narrative play at hand here, as Nabers goes head-to-head with his former LSU teammate, Commanders QB Jayden Daniels. In the offseason, reports surfaced about the two engaging in a bet about who would win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Nabers will be eager to make an impression in this contest, and I’m backing him to catch his first career NFL touchdown on Sunday.

Week 2 First TD Props

Jonathan Taylor: First TD (+550)

Taylor prospects well for NFL first touchdown bets this week because he has a favorable matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers will be without starting QB Jordan Love, limiting the likelihood the offense marches down the field and scores on its first possession. Green Bay’s defense also had trouble stopping Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (3 TDs) near the goal line in Week 1, albeit in sloppy field conditions in Brazil.

The other positive thing about Taylor is that he is almost always on the field. In Week 1, he played 43 of 45 snaps (96%) and was the only Colts running back to touch the football.

Given all these factors, Indy’s veteran RB is a good bet to score the first touchdown on Sunday in Green Bay.

Week 2 Multiple TD Props

James Conner 2+ TDs (+600)

The idea of betting on a player to score multiple touchdowns at 6-1 odds feels wrong, but I guess it makes sense since these two-TD outings happen multiple times per season. Still, I’ll need to pick the right spots to make it easier to stomach.

With that in mind, I’m targeting James Conner for my multiple TD prop bet for Week 2. The Arizona running back is the clear leader of the Cardinals’ backfield, earning five of six red-zone carries and scoring once from three yards out in Week 1 against the Bills.

This week, Conner will face a Rams defense against which he has enjoyed a lot of success. Since joining the Cardinals, the former Pittsburgh Steeler has rushed for two touchdowns in three of five regular-season meetings against LA. He also scored in Arizona’s wild-card loss to the Rams in January 2022.

This game has the second-highest total on the Week 2 slate, making it more likely we see touchdowns on both sides. Given LA’s injury concerns, I like Arizona to win this contest — the Cardinals are my best bet in our NFL picks against the spread — and I think Conner can capitalize on a positive game script by finding the end zone twice on Sunday.

How NFL Anytime TD Prop Betting Works

When wagering on NFL touchdown props, you can pick a player to score a touchdown in the following ways:

  • Anytime Touchdown: Choose a player to score a touchdown at any point in the game.
  • First Touchdown: Your selection needs to score the game’s first touchdown.
  • Last Touchdown: The play has to score the game’s final touchdown.
  • Multiple Touchdowns: You can pick a player to score 2+ or 3+ touchdowns.

Some betting sites may offer “Next Touchdown" props as a live bet. This is where you choose which player scores the game’s next touchdown.

Each of these props has various odds. A player with a higher implied probability of scoring a touchdown will have shorter odds.

Choosing “First," “Next," “Last," or “Multiple" touchdown props will have larger payouts because they’re less likely to happen.

One important note about touchdown props: This does not include passing touchdowns if you choose a quarterback. You would need your quarterback to find the end zone with a rushing touchdown or a rare receiving score on a trick play.

NFL bets can also be made on other player props, such as receiving yards or total interceptions.

How to Pick the Best NFL Anytime TD Prop Betting Sites

Here’s what you need to look for when choosing the best NFL touchdown prop betting sites:

  • The site should feature every type of touchdown bet, including multiple scores.
  • There must be several players to choose from rather than just the stars.
  • The sportsbook should have promotions that cater to touchdown props.
  • There should be odds boosts for players to score a touchdown.
  • The odds should align with the rest of the market.
  • The platform should be user-friendly with a generous welcome bonus.

Best Anytime TD Prop Bets

These are the best touchdown prop bets to target:

  • Anytime Touchdown: It’s hard enough to pick a player to score a touchdown, so you don’t need to make it even more difficult by specifying whether it’s the first or last score of the game. Please keep it simple and stick to anytime touchdown props.
  • Multiple Touchdowns: If you want to shoot for the moon, you can take a player who gets a lot of red-zone usage to score more than one touchdown. A good example of this is Derrick Henry. Be sure to put less money on this bet than your anytime selection.

I suggest avoiding first or last touchdown bets because they can be random.

Anytime TD Betting Strategy

This is the strategy you should follow when targeting touchdown props:

  1. Choose a player on a team with a high implied team total. For example, if the Eagles are favored by four points in a game with a 50-point total, it means they have an implied total of 27 points. The more touchdowns a team scores, the better chance you hit your bet, so keep this in mind.
  2. Target a player heavily involved in the offense, especially in the red zone. You can look at a receiver’s target share or a running back’s red-zone usage to help you select. One good example is D.K. Metcalf, the main option for Seattle inside the 20-yard line.
  3. Be sure not to risk too much of your bankroll on touchdown props. Touchdowns can sometimes be random, so you’ll want to ensure you’re not too heavily invested in this market.
